What to bring:
Good to know:
Volcanic and weather conditions are unpredictable. Fog, rain, or restrictions on climbing are beyond our control. By paying for this trip, you agree to proceed under any weather conditions during the ascent.
One guide (trek leader) accompanies two participants.
The height of the volcano is 3,142 meters.
Short route:
The route starts at an altitude of 1,500 meters above sea level and goes up to the crater summit at 2,907 meters. The one-way trekking distance is 4.2 km and, under normal conditions, the ascent and descent usually take around 8–9 hours in total. This route is more challenging and requires good endurance. Recommended for people with good physical fitness.
Long route:
The route leads to the western summit at 3,142 meters above sea level. The one-way trekking distance is 5.3 km with an elevation gain of nearly 1,600 meters. This route is moderate in difficulty and is also suitable for beginners.
There are no places to buy mineral water or snacks on the slopes of the volcano, so please prepare them in advance.
Choose comfortable clothing and suitable footwear. The route to the summit of Mount Agung passes through several zones — from dense jungle at the base to slippery rocks near the top.
Climbing is not recommended for people with heart conditions or joint problems.
